Woodstock Primary School is a diverse, inclusive, and proud community. We conducted an in-depth strategy phase to improve their community representation and build solid foundations for an authentic and engaging new visual identity. Working closely with the school, we established Woodstock’s four key values: Whanaungatanga, Manaakitanga, Kotahitanga, Mana; and broke these down into child-friendly illustrations, for teaching purposes in the school. At the heart of the identity is a proud, rainbow Tawa tree icon, symbolising growth and strength and speaking to the history of the land on which Woodstock School stands. The variety of colours (inspired by the changing colours of the Tawa tree through the seasons) and irregularity of shapes reflects Woodstock’s diversity of peoples and cultures.
